I wanted to read this book as I'd recently seen the movie "Gone, Baby, Gone" and remembered how much I had enjoyed the characters of Patrick and Angie...and I requested this book, somehow thinking it was a recent publication.
I tore thru it, staying up til 1 AM to finish it, and was nearly finished when I realized I had read it before -- and then checked the pub date and it was pre-2000 (97 or 98 or thereabouts)
I left it out for Terry who also read it in a day and loved it. I'd think this, which follows GBG in the narrative of the lives of the protagonists, would be a GOOD movie if it were cast with the same folks as GBG.
Anyway - mystery lovers, if you haven't read Lehane, start at the beginning of the Kenzie-Gennaro series and GO FOR IT. I love them.
