This was a hilarious romp through the life of this crazy family--Jewish couple who enjoy raising their four biological children so much that when they begin to get older, they end up adopting another five--one from Bulgaria and five from Ethiopia. Each child brings new challenges to the family, but this is really a book about joy--the pure joy of family life. The author is a gifted writer and this book is so funny I had to read many portions to my family so they would know why I was cracking up. There IS some raw language in this book, and the author makes some different parenting decisions than we do, but this book is really irresistible. I'd give it more stars if I could, and if we only had the resources we'd be on the next plane to Ethiopia looking for our own "Helen". Delightful book!!!
