it was amazing
bookshelves: worth-rereading

I loved this book so very, very much. First, the characters were compelling--I genuinely cared that they found happiness. Second, I dearly loved that they are atypical of romances. Anne and Syd are flawed, hurting, yet hopeful. Finally, their problems were not easily overcome. PTSD does not magically disappear in real life and I'm thankful that Mary Balogh did not downplay the pain of the characters' histories by erasing everything in an overly simplistic solution. Beautiful.
