I don't know why I love books about war. I certainly don't watch movies about war. I think part of it comes in the beautiful writing about the differences between death and life, the lament of lost childhood, and the strong bonds that only such a tragic situation can cause. This books definitely had some great quotes. "Bombardment, barrage, curtain-fire, mines, gas, tanks, machine-guns, hand-grenades--words, words, words, but they hold the horror of the world." Erich Maria Remarque
