did not like it
Read from July 22 to August 04, 2011

After reading the Millenium trilogy of Stieg Larsson I've gained an aversion to any crime/thriller type novels so I was quite surprized when my library tricked me into getting this one. From the very beginning I disliked it. The seemingly haphazard variation in sentence length and structure gave the text a disjointed feeling that made reading it uncomfortable. I also found the secrecy of the protagonist to become very grating and it didn't create any of the mystery or intrigue that I believe it was intended to do. After hearing these beautiful descriptions of the Italian country side it detracted from it considerably to be told that it may have all been a lie anyway. Oh, well, at least now I have actually learnt my lesson that this genre is not for me.
