** spoiler alert ** Mandy - English born, of money - income supplemented by parents, dabbled in a toy store, dating a respectable Englishman (thinks it's time to avoid slackers), roommate to 3 other women... Damien, aka Demon - businessman, moved from Chicago 3 years earlier after his wife's murder & surviving a grand jury inquest, isolated, alone & lonely, protecting his heart, hard working, impatient, has been through 4 assistants in the last year...

and Mandy finds out she is pregnant, and her boyfriend wants nothing to do with her... so, she decides it is time to grow up - she sells the store, needs regular hours, pay, & insurance so she applies for job as Damien's assistant at the company one of her roommates works at... and she is not to bring up her pregnacy during the interview... but unfortunately she is suffering from morning sickness - and in the elevator it flares, and a man steps into the elevator - and she asks for his coffee cup in case she is going to toss her cookies - and she babbles a bit, and confides she is going to an interview with the ogre... and yes, you know it, the man in the elevator is Damien - her potential boss... and he goes through with the interview - she answers his questions well ... until she asks for his trashcan & does in fact toss her cookies...

but she gets the job any way... and to stay out of his way, both so as not to suffer his temperment and to keep him from finding out she's pregnant, she makes it a point to duck away when he is near, and to communicate with him by text & IM... and she is doing her job well...

and she is having pregnant, hormone, exotic dreams about him... and his interest is sparked - and he decides to insist she join him on his week in the Caribbean - a work/vacation combo... and they become friends and then lovers...

and, especially once they return to NY, he realizes he must confront his past... and she tells him she loves him, broken and all...
