A delightful cast of characters come together in a small town in England where Major Pettigrew, a widower, falls in love with his recently widowed neighbor dispite the objections of his son and most of his country club friends. The humorous confrontations between generations will make you laugh and the solution to the Majors problems will make you smile. A worthwhile read. I hope Helen Simonson has another book in the works.
