That's it!!??? Goddamn it. This might be the first Stephen King book that I didn't thoroughly enjoy. I normally cannot put his books down and power through even the beasts in no time because I take every spare minute to get a page or two in, but this one was different. Not only was I surprisingly able to put it down for long periods of time and not think about it, the ending disappointed the hell out of me. Mostly because there isn't one. He never explains anything, and despite his passable explanation as to why he never explains anything, it's still pretty infuriating. The whole book is spent describing a mystery that never gets solved! It's a tremendous let down, and not just that it wasn't all wrapped up in a neat little bow, but that there was no attempt to do it. The protagonist listens to the story,this inexplicable anomaly of a random death, and then goes about her day. That's the end.
