This book is a borderline downer sad book, but there is some happiness and a bitter-sweetness to it that keeps it from going over the edge into depressing. Written as a letter to her ex-boyfriend, Min explains the story behind every piece of memorabilia (trinkets, trash, and gifts) and how it all relates to the doomed relationship. I am being a bit melodramatic, but about half-way through the book I wanted to shake Min and tell her that she should never have gone out with Ed and to just dump the stuff without explanation because he knows the why. In a way it was interesting reading about a relationship we know is going to end, and the book is definitely not plot or action intensive.

However, the language and the pace worked very well together. The book was well-written and I wanted to have time to luxuriate in the descriptions and the beauty, an introspective and reflective read.
