it was amazing
bookshelves: fiction, radical-history
Read in April, 2012

So glad someone pointed me in the direction of this book. What a total piece of genius.

All the difficulties of growing up and choosing between grinding poverty and assimilation into something whose power you don't understand yet are so vivid and emotional and brutal.

Yeah, this book kind of punched me in the guts, like you'd hope a book about colonialism in Zimbabwe/Rhodesia would.
