I truly enjoyed this book. It was hard to get into because it was kind of slow (the first i"d say 10 chapters). So, I'd read a little and then put it away. Then I got a little confused because the story flip flopped through time, as one of the main characters relayed a story of his past. This was sew in between the other main characters recalling events of from their own past. Once I got used to the authors writing style, and I got to "know" the characters...I was hooked. My daughter even laughs at me now because I speak of the characters as if they are real! But that's how good Amiatta Forna depicted them for me. I'd recommend the story. You find yourself going through every emotion while reading this book.
