it was amazing
bookshelves: mm, romance-contemporary, 1st-person
Read in December, 2011 — I own a copy

This came up to just 88 pages on my reader and I loved everyone of them:) Many thanks to those who rec'd this to me and I'm sorry I took so long to get to it. But I did. And loved it as you all thought I would.

My conclusion re. Al is that I can't quite see him as stupid. He sees through the bullshit, distilling all the impurities that "clever" people add so that what remain is pure, simple and childlike. He reminded me a little of the alien in Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's The Little Prince. In the end, I think we have the impression some people are smart and clever because their conversations are peppered with snide remarks and bitchiness. Peel that layer off and there's nothing worth much there.
