Well, I'm really, really behind on my classics! After a wobbly attempt at David Weber's Off Armageddon Reef, I felt I needed something smaller, lighter and easier. Instead of a legion of YA novels I have, I was drawn towards the single Clarke book on my shelf, one I'd had for about a year but hadn't touched. I knew of Clarke for many reasons, and I felt it time to finally try and conquer Rama...

Unlike Commander Norton! *Rimshot*

But seriously, this is a very good novel and one full of surprises. I wouldn't say it was particularly exciting, I wasn't teetering on the edge of my seat with anticipation, but then again I wouldn't say it's supposed to be an adrenaline-pumping ride, more one that instils a sense of awe and wonder.
