Book #48 of 2011.

This book picks up immediately where book #2 left off. Allie trusts Zay more and thankfully she hasn't lost any more of her memories. Zay takes Allie on a "real" date where she (accidentally) picks up a pet gargoyle she calls Stone. I'm a fan of the gargoyle, even if his presense made me wonder what exactly was going on in the story that there was time to pick up a stray gargoyle... Allie learns more about Zay and more about the authority and we meet Shame (Shamus), one of Zay's best friends. As a character, he's a riot. Lots of action towards the end as these types of books are wont to do, setting things up for book #4…

I hate the authority from the get-go in this second read-through. I don't think I had that reaction the first time.
