I’m rewriting this review because I want to make it clear that I mean no disrespect to the readers that enjoyed this book or to the author. I think Rachel is an amazing author. The details she put in her first paragraph had me on the edge of my seat with excitement. However, the rape scene caused the whole story to descend for me. I just can’t view rape objectively but I’m aware that there are those that can and for them this is probably an amazing story… I wrote this review not as a disrespect but because I know personally I read reviews exactly for this reason. I like to know if there are things in a book that I know that I personally might not be able to handle. I just wanted to give other readers a heads up so that they don’t go into the story unsuspecting.
