This book is incredible, I wish everyone would read it and apply its lessons. It's about how to communicate effectively. It comes out of The Harvard Negotiation Project. It's full of concrete examples and clear instructions. It breaks difficult conversations into three parts: The "What happened" conversation, the "Feelings" conversation and the "Identity" conversation -- The third conversation is so interesting, it is illuminating to go into a conflict asking the other person (or asking yourself about the other person) what is at stake for their identity with this conflict. Whoa. No seriously, whoa.

I wish every person I had to deal with was utilizing the skills and techniques of this book and attempting to have what the authors call a "learning conversation."
