I decided to re-read this before diving into the sequel which just came out.

I love these guys, especially Trent. He starts out unsure of himself and by the end he really has changed in how he looks at the world and at himself. And he does it because he falls in love with Reed.

Reed is also interesting because he can admit to himself that Trent makes him happy. I like when tough guys can do this. Sure, Reed is always going to be rough around the edges and he doesn't have much in common with Trent on the surface, but he knows that Trent is worth taking chances for. Reed's the kind of guy who cares more about integrity and Trent proves himself in this area time and again.

There is a lot of adventure in this book and kind of a mystery. It's set in Thailand and I really felt like I had taken a trip there by the end. But there is also a lot of romance and some very hot sex scenes.

For me, this book hits all my favorite themes, and it's well-written with layered, complex characters who grow. And now on to the sequel...
