This book is FAR better than the first one and starts right where book 1 leaves off. The one down side of reading a series and writing this review for books 1 and 2 while on book 3 is that I'm having to be very careful I don't get what happens in one book mixed up with another. One of the nice things here is that Nick, Laurie, and Jules get more fleshed out as characters.
By the end of the book I really CARED about them. Here the trio learn about the giants from Noseeum Jack and eventually have to fend for themselves (with some help from Jules girlfriend Cindy)in stopping the giants from burning down all of Florida. You might think that the Grace children just magically show up and help them out, but that's not the case. There's alot of impressive cleverness and ingenuity involved in making deals with the faeries to work out a plan. The funny thing is JUST when you think everything's over and things are going to go back to normal the Grace children show up to delivery a plot bombshell. A problem that must be solved in the third and final book. The real reason the giants woke up.
