it was amazing
bookshelves: juvenile-fiction, read-aloud-to-maren
Read in August, 2011

I checked out this book on the recommendation of my friend Libby, and now I want to recommend to it anybody and everybody! We actually listened to the book on CD rather than read it aloud, solely because it is read by the phenomenal Jim Dale (who also read the Harry Potter books on CD).

The story (the whole series, actually) is a prequel to Peter Pan and tells how Peter and Never Neverland came to be. It was very exciting, and there was plenty of humor and even a hint of romance, and my 6-year-old begged to "listen to Peter" every time we got in the car! I enjoyed listening to it just as much as she did, and we can't wait to listen to the other books in the series! We think it would actually make a really great movie!

Libby Ames Just a little warning, books 2-4 are a little scarier than the first book (especially if you listen to them ). I think Maren will be fine, but you should prepare her for it.
