Mini Review: One of the most delightful tween/YA books I have ever read. Mia is so adorable and real you just can't help but fall in love with her. I absolutely love the way Cabot writes her dialogue and it often reminds me of something that would come out of Whedon. (a true compliment). Mia is a true delight and she made me snort out loud with her outrageous comments and her truly kooky family. Cabot truly has a gift for writing loveable quirky characters. Loved all the Star Trek references which appealed to my inner nerd. If I was doing my usual full review I would have a hell of a time choosing only 3 of my favorite passages, as there were so many. Nice morals of being true to yourself, the importance of compassion and integrity without being all preachy and in your face - love you Cabot! This one is perfect for tweens, teens and adults who remember the awkwardness of being a teen. Just do yourself a favor and pick this one up.

"When I walked in, he folded the paper all carefully, put it down, and gave me this long, intent look, like Captain Picard right before he starts going on to Riker about the Prime Directive."

I bought this at the Meg Cabot signing at Chapters Queensway because Terri suggested I buy it -- Thanks Terri!
