I've read this series in its previous format (well books 1 - 5 at least). I've been waiting on pins and needles for the last book to come out and I'm happy to see he's been picked up by a big publisher - as the books really deserve a large audience.

This series is being read by the Fantasy Book Group Series Group and I'm looking forward to participating in the discussions. I'm also interested in seeing how the book has changed from the first release.

I can't remember the last time that I've read a book and got more out of the re-read than I did the first time around. There are tons of layers in this book that becomes apparent once you are deep into the series and then go back and start from the begining. Masterfully executed.

One of my favorite scenes in the whole book was in this chapter - when Myron says goodbye to his childhood friend - very touching.

Now we're "off to see the wizard" Very fun!"

48.0% "Finished the re-read of the first book, and started Avempartha. Really enjoye Crown - probably even more so the second time around. Also reading this along with Percepliquis - which is simply amazing. This is one of the best fantasy series I've ever come across."

message 1: by Michael (new) - added it

Michael I'm glad you like the new opening. One of the nice things about having the book "out there" was getting feedback from the readers and many were turned off by Archie as a character - and thought that the book may have been about him. So putting Royce and Hadrian front and center from page one worked out well.
