Perhaps due to the cast comprised of writers, instead of the science/philosophy combo found in The End of Mr. Y, this book uses philosophy combined with literary criticism. I didn't find it nearly as enthralling nor as mentally challenging.

It does have a couple of science fiction concepts, most notably the omega point theory, though that idea seems full of holes to me.

Like The End of Mr. Y, I didn't like the plot (the plot about not having a plot?) or the characters. But every time I was about to put the book down, there would be another interesting paragraph or two that made it just barely worth it.
