This is the story of a man who's entire adult life as an imposter. Christian Gerhartsreiter arrived in the US from Germany and began his decades long charade of pretending to be someone he's not. After several rebirths ranging from California to Connecticut and New York, Gerhartsreiter finally settles on his "Clark Rockefeller" persona. As Rockefeller, he marries, and fathers a daughter who eventually is his undoing. The most amazing part of this story is the realization of just how easily people can be fooled. 'Clark Rockefeller' ingratiates himself with very wealthy people and rubs elbows with high-society. These are not uneducated people that are fooled. Readers will be fascinated to watch this chameleon adapt and lie his way through decades.
