I haven't read too many graphic novels or comic book fiction since I was in middle school, but among the ones I have read are dark, noir, vigilante-style plot lines like Hellblazer. This takes nothing away from the uniqueness of this storyline, which I think is easily its strong point.

The one thing I don't get is why the devil is so naive. Constantine cares little to nothing about himself, so why not hit him where it really easy bargaining chip would've been to threaten him with all of C's dead loved ones who are now wretched outcasts in hell and can be used to teeter C's resolve. Hmmpfh, anyway, I thought it was a really great story...the penciling was sort've weak although there are some really creative title page covers...Though I did appreciate the color palette, I thought there was some pretty obvious corner cutting going on in the inking dept. as well...

I thought it was pretty funny he still smokes at the end...give em hell Constantine! Heheh...
