Reading all of Capote's work, as I have, perhaps I was drawn in to this biography more quickly and absolutely than I imagined. The writing is excellent, the portrayal of Truman Capote painfully real. Most of all, however, is the surprise beneath the surprise. This story itself is like a tragic novel and the villains and saviors turn out to be one in the same.
