Patricia Briggs has created an interesting world with her Mercy Thompson series. While I liked Blood Bound,there was too much back story, it took too long for Mercy to get into the thick of the action, and the introduction of a third love interest felt awkward.

I love that we see this interesting new vampire world through the eyes of Mercy, raised by wolves, but is her own prenatural being. Her sparkling hint of a romance with the wolf Alpha is intriquing because his nature is to control and Mercy finds herself wanting to submit. On the other hand, there is Samuel, an old "high school" love whose traits, like hers, don't always fits amongst the wolves. What I take issue with is the introduction of a possible third love interest. I don't think the reader has seen provocation for why this third love interest wants Mercy.
