While I liked Blood Bound,there was too much back story, it took too long for Mercy to get into the thick of the action, and the introduction of a third love interest felt awkward. <br/> <br/>I love that we see this interesting new vampire world through the eyes of Mercy, raised by wolves, but is her own prenatural being. Her sparkling hint of a romance with the wolf Alpha is intriquing because his nature is to control and Mercy finds herself wanting to submit. On the other hand, there is Samuel, an old "high school" love whose traits, like hers, don't always fits amongst the wolves. What I take issue with is the introduction of a possible third love interest. I don't think the reader has seen provocation for why this third love interest wants Mercy. The reader is learning about this third love interest through what Mercy finds out from friends of his. You don't hear from the character to draw a connection like you have with Samuel, or even the Alpha, Adam. This love interest is just too new and I don't think his actions make sense yet. <br/> <br/>On the action front, I felt like Briggs brought Mercy into the thick of things too late. I would have liked for her to be more involved, because it would have been interesting to have more cat and mouse scenes where Mercy must survive this new beast no one wants a piece of. This monster was brillant on Briggs part and I think it was interesting enough to write more about. Instead of hearing Mercy talk about the cars she is fixing, I would have loved for her to have had more scenes with Andre and the monster. I think the end would have been more meaningful (even though I love that Mercy consults one of the monster's victims before slaying it)if she had more of a connection or established more of a relationship with Andre. <br/><br/><a href="http://www.goodreads.com/review/list/1015108?utm_medium=api&utm_source=blog_review">View all my reviews.</a>
