My favorite kind of book to read. Swings wildly between laugh-out-loud humor and choking back tears. Loved the main characters, too. I think I might take off half a star for no way are teenagers that smart and emotionally mature, but maybe not, because I enjoyed it so much. And, I don't know, maybe it was a bit heavy handed and melodramatic with all the deep thoughts and death talk. But extra stars for being set in Indianapolis and referring to real places (North Central high school, Castleton Square mall, a gas station at 86th and Ditch, Crown Point cemetery -- I could go on...), that made it incredibly realistic to me.
