I'm a big fan of Gabriel Garcia Marquez, and I'm a little ashamed to admit that I just got around to reading this (yes, even after the Oprah bandwagon landed here . . . ). As I expected, it didn't disappoint: Love in the Time of Cholera is heartfelt without verging into the realm of the saccharine, delightfully atmospheric, and more than a little bit crazy. However, this isn't the madcap surrealist adventure of One Hundred Years of Solitude; it's Marquez's take on an epic love story. I loved every word of the lush storytelling, which almost caused me to miss my bus or train stop more than a few times.
