Dark Ride is only a little book, at just under 200 pages l thought this book would be a nice little quick average read. Dark Ride is actually so much more than that!
Bel is a character who l straight away liked from the first few lines. Her humour is something which l really enjoyed in this book and it mixed well with other parts of the book, for example it was nice to have the humour amongst the tension. The humour also made this book feel very real and l never doubted anything in this book for a second.

The relationships in this book were also something which l really enjoyed about Dark Ride. Both the relationship Bel had with her mum and dad were very different and also interesting to read about. The way Bel thought about her mum was one which l think a lot of people her age can understand as mother and daughter relationships can both be loving but also tense and full on at times. Luka was another great character who played a big part in this story. I loved how Caroline slowly revealed small things about him.

There were a few little twists throughout this book which really got me gripped to this book and wanting to find out what happens more, l didn’t see a lot of it coming at all! The storyline is definitely one which is unique and keeps you guessing throughout the book.

Overall Dark Ride is a must read, you will be engrossed from the first page finding yourself both laughing, biting your nails and reading as fast as you can to find out what happens next! Caroline is a very talented author who has created a unique story that flows very well, l will definitely be looking out for more books by her. Do NOT give this one a miss!
