really liked it
bookshelves: zombies, romance, horror

I'm not sure what to write about this one. It's a complicated love story between a zombie named "R" and a girl named Julie. It's very thoughtfully written and although not hysterically funny, has some humorous moments... I'm fairly certain there was a scene intentionally reminiscent of Romeo and Juliet's balcony scene, although having taught that play 8,000 times could be influencing my perspective. It's not my favorite zombie book of all time, but it's definitely a literary attempt to investigate what makes us human and alive and I really enjoyed a very different kind of love story.
