The Return of Rafe MacKade (The MacKade Brothers, #1)
by Nora Roberts
by Nora Roberts
Frankly, the day I have the sales record and the fanbase that Nora Roberts has, will be the day I criticize her books. Though this book felt sort of "formulaic", it was a consistent read. When I pick up a Nora Roberts book, I expect to be 1.) Entertained; 2.) I expect lots of romance and heat (not overly hot...just hot. Romance readers will understand what I'm saying.), 3.) I expect the characters to fall in love despite the fact they never expected to, and 4.) I expect a H.E.A. (Because I am a giant sucker for a happy ever after.) Nora Robert's books always deliver. I repeat: They always deliver. Was I moved to tears? No. Not this time. Was I rolling on the floor with laughter? Not so much. Was I on the edge of my seat wondering when I could get back to my book? Not as much as I was with other NR books. However, this book delivered. I read it. I was satisfied after I was done. We all win. :

Ooo, that will have to be my next one. Nora Roberts has so many books it hard to know to know what to read.
I am somewhat picky....I find that I prefer her books that lean closer to contemporary, though there always seems to be a touch of magic in each of them. I will keep you posted!
I've never read Nora Roberts before...which would you recommend? I know she writes romance, are they clean?
Kathy--I would say that her books are a 3 out of a 5 hotness scale, 0 being Amish Romance, and 5 being erotica. My book (The What If Guy) would be a 2 on that scale. I write a touch of sexiness, but fade to black for the act of sex. Nora Roberts writes the whole act, but does it tastefully. It's not graphic or tasteless. I hope that description was helpful...
Oh, and BTW, Kathy....if you want to try Nora's books, you might enjoy her Bridal Quartet series to start off with. Those were really fun.
