** spoiler alert ** I've never read Jane Austen's "Northanger Abbey", which is what this book is based on. That mattered little, I loved this book right from the beginning. The wit, the humor, the similes made me laugh out loud the whole book through! Loved Charlotte's character. The middle I was wondering where the book would lead, wanting it to hurry up and get where it was going. The last third of the book I was giddily reading, devouring it. Loved all the character closures/happy endings. Didn't foresee the love interest twist, so had to go back and reread to get my 'fill' of the real love interest. But my suspicions about the murderer were correct. Fun read! Quite possibly my favorite of Shannon Hale's! The only REAL puzzling question I had after such a delightful read is this: which is Eddie's true eye color, twinkling blue or honey brown?! I must know. ;)
