I enjoyed this, but I have some issues with Collins. As with The Hunger Games series, she uses a lot of violence and death that is, quite frankly, unneeded. But that is how she creates emotion in the books and emotional ties to the characters. If you are on a quest authored by Collins, beware, as you have a 33 to 50 percent chance of dying a horrific death before the storyline quickly moves on without you. I am also bothered by the dialogue from the baby, which was annoying to me and wasn't quite right. And I think that, judging by his actions, etc, Gregor is more like 14 years old. No 11 year old that I know would behave in such responsible ways and speak so well and so intelligently.

All of that aside, I did enjoy the first installment and will be reading the second.
