it was amazing
bookshelves: historical-romance, magic, made-of-awesome, para-rom
Read from December 14 to 29, 2011

I'm honestly not sure whether to go with four or five stars for Devil's Kiss. I can't find anything really wrong with it - everything's there; the chemistry between characters, the awesomely kickass heroine, the flawed hero who has to learn his own humanity and vulnerability and does so without losing spine. There's a ton of action and suspense, and even though it's a historical romance, the paranormal world-building was strong.

So, why not an automatic, full, five-star rating? I think it's just that it took me almost two weeks to finish it. Granted, Christmas happened in there. But Zoe Archer's stuff is always sooooo rich and complex. This isn't a bad thing. But it's kinda like having a multi-course meal at a really awesome restaurant. You can't eat like that every day, three times a day.

Hell with it. I'll go with 5-stars for now. Hopefully a more detailed review pending soon. If I can remember the details. I'm kind of in overload right now...
