I read this for a class and enjoyed it more than I thought I would, as I'm not always a fan of traditional SF. Lewis' Utopian world of Malacandra, though its messages are a bit pointed, is interesting, and I would love to see how it looked in his head. Message-wise, I most appreciated the Hrossa's conviction that actions and memory are just the same thing in different forms--that memory of an action is a necessary part of an action, and of equal or greater value. Anyway, an interesting read.
