Straken (High Druid of Shannara, #3)

I enjoyed this book as I do all of Terry Brooks books. I do have one complaint, a complaint that could be said of many mystery, sci-fi and fantasy writers. During the whole book the writer will pay great attention to minute details, great character development, smoothly forming the story line. Then when it gets close to the end of the book or in this case a series, things get hastily thrown together, there is a climax and then the end of book. Sometimes the coming together of many different story lines is not sufficiently explained, small sometimes maybe insignificant story lines are dropped, very little follow-up. I like to see the characters get together at the end of an adventure maybe have a little more discussion, maybe talk a little more about what they are going to do in the future. It is like the author is up against a deadline or maybe has grown tired of writing that particular book and can't wait to get on to their next project. This book is not guilty of all those problems but the ending could have been a little "slowed down".
