I really enjoyed this book. Diamant seems to have done quite a bit of research of the cultural history of this time period. Diamant weaves a powerful story of the role of women in Biblical times. It's interesting to me that she chose Dinah, a woman only mentioned in one passage of Genesis, as the narrator. I think she makes a strong point by that choice, showing that women were not made note of in that time. It's clear that the women of that time certainly did carry the family story and line, so it was very neat to read this author's take on these famous women of the Bible. It is a good story, in and of itself, but it's really interesting to consider the culture of the time.
