it was amazing
bookshelves: historical-fiction, tales-fables-myths
Read in March, 2008

I was hanging out in City Lights Bookshop with my sister, and couldn't resist picking up such a sparkley book. Now I'm really glad I did, because it's been hard to put down. The basis of this story is from Indian mythology, but it is described through one of the female character's eyes.
** I'm done, and I loved it. I originally gave it 4 stars, but my the time I finished it gets 5. Quite a bit of heart-break, but the book definitely prepares you for it with all the forshadowing. This book makes me want to learn more about Indian mythology and spirituality.
