Why We Broke Up

3.5. It's probably not fair, but I couldn't help but hold this book up against The Basic Eight. I wanted this to go in a different direction, but it felt kind of like TB8-lite: all of the snark and none of the twist. Perhaps if I had read this book first, I might feel differently.
Still. I enjoyed this, and I think Handler has a very interesting way of getting inside his female protagonists' heads. I was working on a story about an artsy, frumpy girl while I read this, and Min got under my skin in ways that surprised me. Also, I'm a sucker for Handler's manic, stream-of-consciousness YA prose.
