it was amazing
bookshelves: children-very-young

We had a rottweiler (Asta) when the children were young - so this book fit into our family very well - given to us by good friends the Cunninghams. There are no words in this book, so you create the story as you're looking at the pictures. At first, over-protective new mother that I was at the time (no, I'm not so much anymore, 19 years later - okay, maybe just a little), I was horrified by Carl's adventures with the baby - but Carl is a very good care-taker and the baby is always safe. In fact, that's what's cool about this book. The parents are in la-la land, but Carl, like every good dog I've ever known, is always right there to do whatever it can for the ones it loves. RIP Asta.

This is a whole series - so check out the rest too!
