Sadie Novak is a crime scene cleaner who just happens to see ghosts and help them 'go into the light'. During a clean up of a murder-suicide she discovers that there is more going on with the case then it appears.

Now, I have to confess that I stayed up all night reading this story. I was hooked. But calling this a mystery is akin to calling The Ghost Whisperer a drama just because it doesn't have a laugh track. This is a fluffy paranormal story where the reader isn't told everything up front and has to 'figure it out' with the main character.

So yeah. I knew who the killer was when he was introduced. Not a big mystery there and perhaps I enjoyed this book so much is because the last ghost-mystery book I read was so painfully boring. It was also nice to see a heroine who didn't have a glamorous job and at times was rather unlikeable. To me this read like a pleasant TV pilot.

I also have to confess that the end was jaw dropping. I'm kicking myself because I should have seen it coming but I was completely blindsided. That really doesn't happen often. LOL.

An entertaining bit of fluffy paranormal chick-litty romance without sex. It's a perfect beach read or rainy day read. A solid 3.5.
