7/14/11 ** Two interesting characters pull you through this murder mystery. Clare is an Episcopal priest (the first woman priest in this small town) and also a former Army helicopter pilot (and graduate of the Army's survival school). Russ is also retired Army, and the Chief of Police in this in this remote area of upstate New York. When an abandoned baby is found on the steps of Clare's parish, a train of events, including several murders, follow closely.

I found parts of the story to drag slightly, and I was annoyed at the characters several times. After finishing the book though, I recognize that the author simply did an excellent job crafting real people, people who live their foibles.
