really liked it
bookshelves: feminism, dystopian, post-apocalyptic, scifi, series, gmo
Read in October, 2009

Atwood's near-future dystopia where the world is run by an evil corporation and a wacky environmental religious cult constantly warn of an impending pandemic is certainly timely. However, the book isn't really about the environment or big corporations; it's about what it is to be a woman in a society where somehow men still have the power. A wonderfully thought-provoking book that unfortunately fizzles at the end.
