Things I love--a great school librarian who believes that reading to children is the most important thing and works really hard at it...a dad who is a little quirky and finds a way to connect to his daughters...and a parent and child who commit to reading together every night on a streak that lasts for nine years and way past the time most kids think that is cool. Sharing the great stories, building a common interest, and developing a strong bond were all accomplished in a few minutes devoted to reading. Terrific story!
I did find the ending--what happened to this wonderful, well-loved librarian jarring and a bit hard to believe.
Written by the 22 year-old daughter, I gave five stars for the premise of the book, not literary excellence.
