Wow, man. I was reading to compare the TV show and the book, as well as with hopes of sneaking a peek at the season to come, and was surprised at how much the TV adaptation took from the book. The show is almost line-by-line, scene-by-scene depictions--however, the show was able to give more emotion to the more heartwrenching scenes in the series and was able to give them more heart. The book, however, shows more growth in the characters and a depth that the show isn't quite able to get.

Good stuff! I can't wait to read the second one.
