I'm only reading this because our book club picked it for our 'non-fiction' month ---I'm bored stiff--but I'll finish it. (we read non-fiction every other month) Most of the time we choose better books to read.

I have now finished this book....and I was wrong! I laughed --smiled ---and have respect for the author for the difference she is making with "The Happiness Project".

Sophia Maybe you're a very happy person, to start with! I was very unhappy when I read this. It was just what I needed :)

Elyse I understand your comment. Thanks for sharing with me. And actually, now that I'm almost done with the book, I can say, I'm happy the author wrote it--and is helping making a difference for others.

Elyse I laughed silly over the frozen Cherrios and Milk for April Fools. (I've gotta try that one), lol

Elyse one more thing: I AM glad I read this book. I don't REALLY EVER want to take for granted how far I have come MYSELF. I've worked at "Being Happy" ---(having inner peace). I have a spiritual practice-I enjoy the journey called life. I love my husband very much --32 years so far. Our daughters are on 'their' path. My relationship with both of them is easy going and with love--not filled with control and judgments. We have great friends-a wonderful community--and as my husband said the other day..."we are the most social couple I know that doesn't even have to leave the house often". We've created a wonderful community of 'warm-water-friends' who visit our home little yard-oasis often for soaking in the pool-a sauna --and small retreats. Yes...I'm happy --and VERY THANKFUL. Even 'eating' has become a spiritual practice for me. We are ALL connected--wanting to love and be love!

Sophia How very lovely! Thank YOU for sharing :)

Elyse YOU are a *lovely* person!

Sophia *smiles*

Bobby Elyse, try "a crossing or the drop's history" by Anatoliy Obraztsov. I think it's in your taste

Elyse Thank you *Bobby*! :)

Leila Summers So is the book only 2 stars or did you change your mind? There are so many mixed reviews of this book, it is confusing!

Elyse *Leila*: Are you asking me this question?

I read that book awhile ago. Yes---I suppose I did give it only 2 stars at te time ---(I could go up a little). ---
but I think the point is...
This type of book could very well have mixed reviews for MANY reasons:

When my book club read it (about 15 people-men & woman --of all ages, personal challenges in their lives---etc.)....

Here is what I noticed by our discussion:

The YOUNGER members liked the book a lot.
Also---people who had Cancer got value a lot.

The OLDER members of the book club tended to feel they had already lived through some of these life experiences (for themselves).

By the time I was done reading the book AND listening to many people in our book club discuss the book--I decided if tis book helped even *1* person ---(really helped them) ---then it was a valuable book.

Truth is --I think the book added vitality-'freshness' and ideas for many people. (so---yes---I guess I could give this book more than 2 stars just on that reason alone). ---

*Leila*: Trust *YOUR* gut (you might like many things about this book) --- Its not AWFUL---Its not in BAD taste like my worse-favorite book I just read.....lol
Its really on of those books that is either your cup of tea --or its not. (make any sense?)

Happy New Year Leila!
