I picked this book off a shelf at my grandparents house a few years ago. It was an old hardback copy. I had no idea what to expect when I opened it. I had no idea what the Robe was. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by the adventure that I went on with this book. Obviously, the robe belonged to Jesus, and Marcellus, the main character, retraces Jesus's steps eventually acquiring the robe and becoming a Christian. Demetrius, Marcellus's Greek servant, was probably my favorite character. He was the epitome of loyal in all aspects of his life. I recommend this book for people who like to read religious fiction as well as people who like to read adventure stories. It was not at all preachy even though it was steeped in spirituality.
