I love every one of Jayne Ann Krentz/Amanda Quick's paranormal stories. Unfortunately, I've read so many of them, they're starting to blend together in my mind because they seem to all have similar elements in them: the men are brooding and tough, the girl always gets kidnapped after they think the case gets solved, and their paranormal abilities are always off-the-charts high. This in no way diminishes my enjoyment in the story, it just can become slightly repetitive.

However, I enjoyed the story, the pacing is fast, the characters fun, the sex is steamy, and paranormal abilities always make things just a little bit cooler. All in all, a thoroughly enjoyable book. I also love the scientific approach to paranormal abilities and the unique twist on a very intriguing paranormal artifact in this book. I am very much looking forward to reading the rest of the trilogy.
