When a demon is mistaken for a terrorist and brought to an Abu Ghraib like detention center to be tortured, the interrogators realize there's something different about their captive. Occult expert John Constantine, now in his mid-fifties, is unwillingly brought to Iraq and soon finds himself dodging bullets and dealing with Babylonian gods, including one he's had run-ins with before. Jamie Delano has always been the most political of Hellblazer's various writers and present day politics are definitely highlighted. It's a very well crafted story with some interesting surprises and some heart-stopping moments. This story stands on its own, so it's a great place for readers new to the world of Hellblazer to jump in.
