Wasn't as impressed with this as I wanted to be. Jordan Sonnenblick's Drums, Girls, and Dangerous Pie raised the bar so high for me that this "sequel" written from Jeffrey Alper's point of view, the cancer-stricken brother of Steven in Drums, felt like you could do without it. But that's not to say it was completely unpleasant because I did enjoy knowing about Jeffrey's side of things esp. now that he's recovered and is now a ~teenager with a best friend who's got cancer for the second time, but it felt like Sonnenblick fell into the trap of chasing his successful first book that this second one hardly developed its own "personality."
